I’d like to welcome you to a weekly segment of my new blog called ‘Mindspo Quote of the Week’. If you follow my online meditation school Mindspo on Instagram, you would see we post inspirational and motivational quotes daily. I freaking LOVE quotes; some of my most profound lessons I’ve learnt in my lifetime have been from short but powerful one-line quotes spoken by some of the greatest minds of our time.
I am someone that LOVES deep thought-provoking conversations and want to use this blog to share my deeper and more introspective thoughts with you.
Every Monday, there will be a new Mindspo quote of the week posted here that has inspired or motivated me. Then I will share my thoughts on the lessons and actions we can take from it.

This quote by Thomas. A Edison, aka the man who invented the light bulb, is an all-time favorite of mine. Failure is something I feel we can all understand; I haven’t met someone to date that hasn’t tasted what failure feels like, but this quote leaves us wondering have we ever really failed.
Failing/Failure is a scary concept. It is a feeling or state we all try to avoid in life because no one wants to be seen as a failure. But as we all know too well, failing is really a stepping stone on the way to success.
Read any number of autobiographies of famous entrepreneurs and visionaries of our time, and you’ll find that their road to MAKING IT included failing time and time again. I like to see failure as FEEDBACK, which is what this quote by Thomas Edison is talking about when we experience ‘failure’, informing us that once something doesn’t work, it’s time to try something new, get back to the drawing board and try again.
What makes this quote so profound to me is that Thomas Edison admits to trying countless methods to build our modern day light bulb with little to no success. But even then, he was persistent and was not afraid of failure. This mindset to achieve success is one we can all take something from, which reminds us that failure is a step which edition backs up in another quote I love from him after a journalist asked “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” which Edison replied,
“I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”
So if today you are sitting there and you are feeling like a failure or close to giving up, I’d like to remind you that we all fail on the way to success so DON’T GIVE UP. The feedback of failure is just the universe telling you that it’s time to refocus and try again.
To sum it up, I’ll leave you with this gem, also by Thomas A Edison:
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
If you’ve been looking for a sign, it’s the universe here telling you to keep going, you’ve got this.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas A. Edison
