Dear Writer,
I see you.
And I feel the pull of those big dreams that live inside your heart. I know what it's like to have a story you’re aching to tell, words swirling in your mind just waiting to land on the page, and a longing for those words to be felt by readers around the world.
I created this retreat for you because, truthfully, writing my first book was one of the loneliest experiences of my life. For 18 months, I was in a cocoon while writing, Magnetic. And during that entire time, there was only one other person I knew who was walking the same path. Her name was Nicole Vignola, also known as Nicole’s Neuroscience, the author of Rewire. Having that one touchpoint with a fellow first-time author was one of the only things that kept me sane. That connection to someone on the same journey anchored me during one of the most formative, confronting, and creatively challenging chapters of my life.
It got me thinking: how much harder, how much lonelier would that experience have been if I hadn’t had her, or my book agent, or a publisher yet?
And now, from my own experience and frustration, I’m creating something new, a space I wish had existed when I was in the thick of writing my first book, introducing - The Writer’s Residence. Over the course of my career, I’ve always believed in the power of in-person experiences. My retreat company, Mindspo Retreats, has now hosted 42 retreats and supported thousands of students around the world, so this retreat seems like an evolution of the work I’ve been doing for years.
The Writer’s Residence is a retreat designed for writers just like you. A space to romanticize your writing process, to make real progress, and most importantly, to feel less alone on your path. This is a place to connect with peers who will become your creative support system, the kind of people who keep you sane through the highs, the lows, and the inevitable blocks that every writer faces.
When I started writing, I searched for a retreat like this. Not a week of back-to-back workshops or masterclasses, but a space. A sanctuary. One that would provide time and quiet, nervous system regulation, and the kind of energy that helps you connect with your own inner magic.
This retreat won’t teach you how to become a writer because if you’re reading this, you already are one. What it will do, though, is help you strengthen that identity. It will give you the space to move through the blocks, keeping you from your best work. It will reconnect you to your purpose and your presence.
I’m so excited to spend a full week with you in Italy, pouring our hearts onto the page, slowing down, eating amazing fresh food, and tending to the desires that called us to write in the first place.
I am so grateful you found this space. I can’t wait to go on this adventure with you.
With love,
Rochelle Fox
